~ A Message from the Board - August 2017

~ Message from the Board

The club held its annual picnic at McKee Farms Park on July 11.  Thirty members were present for the pot luck supper and they seemed to enjoy the food, music and fellowship.  There were ham, turkey and roast beef sandwiches along with soft drinks furnished by the club and plenty of good food furnished by the members. Two new memberships were received.    Our special thanks to Cheryl Sullivan for coordinating the event and Larry Lowden for handling registrations.

A short meeting was held with Michael Lang providing an update on the Mad Gael Music Fest which will take place on August 25 & 26 at Breeze Stevens Field.  He also included a rundown of the performers taking part. The club agreed to provide volunteer support for the festival.  Larry Lowden is handling the scheduling of volunteers which will be in two-hour shifts.  We need your help. Please contact Larry at 238-6429 or dundeeljl@sbcglobal.net.

The board members are asking for suggestions on how the club can obtain new members and officers.  These are critical issues for the continuance of the club.  The treasurer has also become concerned about the financial status of the club.  Please step forward if you can help.

Check out the Mad Gael Music Fest website for the lineup of International, regional and local Irish and Scottish music featured for 16 hours on 2 stages.
