Hello and Happy August!
First, thanks to everyone who came out for our July Picnic. From what I could gather, a great time was had by all who attended. Curragh was on hand to play for us and they were, as usual, a big hit. Thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped with planning and coordinating. August in Wisconsin (and surrounding areas) means – at least to me – one thing: IRISH FEST(S)! I will be in attendance (in Milwaukee) on Friday and Saturday, proudly wearing my new Dane County Shamrock Club t-shirt. My Irish Fest poster collection has grown quite extensive over the years (much to Natalie’s chagrin) and I’m now challenged with finding space for all of them. In addition to Milwaukee’s Irish Fest, Waterloo, Iowa holds their annual Irish Fest August 2nd-4th. Events include a Whiskey Class (tickets sold separately), a Celtic Cruise Motorcycle Ride, a 5K Run/Walk, the High Nelly Bike Rally and more. The 15th Annual Irish Fest in La Crosse is August 9th-11th. Killian’s Kilt Run/Walk, a Mashed Potato Contest, Irish Road Bowling and a whole Wee Folks Schedule highlight this year’s event.
