A Message from the Board - March 2018

March is here, and it is time to get out the green and celebrate the Patron Saint of the Irish!

The club will hold its St. Patrick's Day Dinner on March 11 at Rex's Innkeeper in Waunakee at noon.  The Cashel Dennehy Irish Dancers will perform at 1:00 and dinner and raffle will follow their performance.  If you have not sent in your reservation for dinner, we suggest you do so at this time, so the food order can be submitted.  The reservation form is on the insert in this newsletter. Please submit your reservations so we receive them by Monday, March 5.

The club's annual Irish Flag event will be held in the Capitol rotunda at noon on March 17 followed by the St. Patrick's Day Parade at 1:30. All members and friends are welcome to walk with the Club in the parade.  If you wish, bring candy or beads or whatever you’d like to toss to all the smiling faces you’ll see as you take the walk.  We are hoping for warm weather, a large crowd and lots of Wearing of the Green!

The board wishes to extend its congratulations to Edward Patrick Ledwidge Jr. upon his selection as 2018 Irish Person of the Year.  Ed will be honored at the St. Patrick's Dinner, the Irish Flag Ceremony and the St. Patrick's Day Parade. (see page 2 for Ed’s message)

Just a reminder that the club is searching for new members, newsletter advertisers, and board members.  If you have any suggestions for new ideas for improvements, we ask that you submit them to any current board member.  Remember club meetings are open to the entire membership and the next meeting is April 7, 11:30 am at O’Grady’s Irish Pub & Grill, 7436 Mineral Point Rd., Madison.
